Max Simokaitis, a junior at Oakville High School, is the definition of a multi-sport athlete. Competing in baseball, basketball, and football, Simokaitis brings versatility, determination, and leadership to every field and court he steps on. Whether he’s turning double plays at shortstop, battling for rebounds as a power forward, or making big plays as a wide receiver and safety, Simokaitis’ impact is undeniable.
What drives him is the clear and steady goal of success. “What motivates me is just wanting to be successful in life,” Simokaitis shared with Vype Magazine. “So I focus on doing all the little things I need to do to get there.” That attention to detail and willingness to make sacrifices have helped him excel across three sports.
Simokaitis credits much of his growth to his club coaches, who have been strong believers in his abilities. At Oakville, Coach Williams has made a big impact. “He’s always honest and no matter what sport it is, he always finds a way for me to improve,” Simokaitis shares.
One of the biggest highlights of Simokaitis’ athletic career came during his sophomore year, when he had a touchdown, an interception, and a blocked punt all in the same football game. This was a true all-around performance that showcased his playmaking ability at a young age.
Off the field, Simokaitis is active in the school’s leadership program, helping make a positive impact around campus. After high school, Simokaitis plans to play baseball at the collegiate level, continuing to chase his dreams through hard work and dedication.
Representing Oakville means a lot to Simokaitis. “It means a lot when I can play for Oakville and have coaches notice me,” he says. “People doubt Oakville, saying it’s a bad sports school, but we’ve got just as many athletes as any other school.”
With talent, heart, and something to prove, Max Simokaitis is showing everyone what Oakville is really made of.
