Reiann Hampton – Winston
Winston’s backcourt stability continues to run through junior guard Reiann Hampton, a player whose impact stretches far beyond her size. Listed at 5-foot-4, Hampton has emerged as a leader on both ends of the floor, combining scoring, defensive pressure and rebounding from the guard spot.
Now a second-year captain, Hampton has taken a noticeable step forward this season, especially as an offensive option. Head coach Ryan Hutchcraft highlighted her expanded role and leadership.
“Reiann is a junior guard and second-year captain for us,” Hutchcraft said. “She leads us on both ends of the floor, averaging 13.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.2 steals and 3.1 assists per game. She plays with relentless effort and makes the whole team better when she is on the floor.”
That relentless effort shows up in the stat sheet and in the intangibles. Hampton’s ability to disrupt passing lanes, push tempo and rebound against taller opponents gives Winston a dependable presence in close games. Her growth as a scorer has added another layer to her all-around game, forcing defenses to account for her at all times.
When asked about her personal highlight of the season, Hampton pointed not to individual numbers, but to the connections built along the way.
“My highlight has been growing and making memories with my team,” she said.
That mindset, paired with her on-court production, has made Hampton a cornerstone for Winston as the season continues—one whose leadership and versatility set the tone every time she steps on the floor.
