Molly Glosier is the kind of athlete who brings both intensity and purpose to everything she does.
A junior at Duchesne High School, Glosier balances a demanding two-sport schedule in basketball and volleyball, competing as a middle hitter and blocker on the volleyball court and playing in the post as a 4 or 5 on the basketball team. But beyond her physical presence, it’s her mindset that separates her.
“I would say my biggest motivator is goal setting, which I do at the beginning of every season or game. When I set a goal, I will strive to reach it consistently, which motivates me.”
That discipline showed up in a memorable basketball season filled with defining moments. From hard-fought wins to meaningful leadership opportunities, Glosier embraced both the challenges and the rewards that came her way.
“A highlight from earlier this past season was definitely beating St. Charles High in overtime. It was also an incredible feeling to win districts with a team that had hit some great adversity throughout the season. Lastly, I was honored to be a captain and grow in my relationships with my teammates through fun team bonding or just showing up for each other on the hard days.”
For Glosier, wearing a Duchesne jersey carries weight far beyond the game itself. It represents pride, responsibility, and gratitude for a community that has helped shape her.
“For me, representing Duchesne has always been an honorary position because I believe in the school’s mission and showing what it means to live up to the standard Duchesne has set. I want to represent the school well because the community and the opportunity it has brought to my life have made a lasting impact on me and my confidence.”
When adversity hits, Glosier leans on a powerful source of motivation close to home, her dad, who helped spark her love for basketball and continues to push her forward.
“My dad. My dad is the person who taught me not only how to play basketball but to love the game. I have a shared passion with my dad for this sport, and that has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. He pushes me hard, but that motivates me to accomplish things I didn’t know I could.”
Her growth hasn’t just been individual. With a new coach this past season, Glosier saw her team evolve, building a stronger culture and connection that she hopes will continue.
“It was our first year together this past season, and I’m looking forward to continuing working with him. I think coach has brought the team and I together in a cultural sense, and for that I’m very grateful.”
Behind the scenes, her family plays a constant role in her success, providing both emotional and practical support that keeps her grounded and ready to compete.
“My family, my parents especially, are extremely supportive in many ways. They show up and support me at every game, building me up when I’m down, push me to be better, teach me life lessons, and cook/fuel me before all games.”
With a strong foundation, a driven mindset, and a clear sense of purpose, Glosier continues to grow as both an athlete and a leader, one goal at a time.
