Seneca’s Maddy Hembree – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Rally Networks

Connections are what define Maddy Hembree’s experience as a student-athlete at Seneca High School. “I love the connections I have with my teachers,” Hembree said, noting that those relationships have shaped her time both in the classroom and on the court.

As a senior, Hembree has found a comfort zone academically. “My favorite subject in school is English,” she said. “My favorite teacher is Mr. Roark.” That balance between school and athletics has helped her enjoy the day-to-day rhythm of being a student-athlete.

Away from volleyball, Hembree values simple moments. “My favorite activity is being with my friends and doing random things,” she said. Those relationships mirror what she values most in her sport. “I love the memories I made in the team,” Hembree said when describing what stands out about being part of the Seneca volleyball program.

Looking ahead, growth is what excites her most. “I am looking forward to our volleyball program growing!” she said. That optimism is rooted in her love for the game itself. “My decision on joining the volleyball team was because I loved the sport!” Hembree said.

For those considering joining the program, Hembree keeps her advice straightforward. “Be yourself and learn off of your mistakes!” she said, emphasizing confidence and resilience as keys to enjoying the experience.

When volleyball shoes come off, Hembree appreciates quiet and reflection. “I like going to antique stores and having alone time,” she said. Those moments allow her to recharge and stay grounded during a busy season.

As graduation approaches, her future goals are already taking shape. “I am planning on being a teacher in elementary education!” Hembree said, a path that reflects the same appreciation for education that has defined her high school years.

As she prepares to close this chapter, Hembree’s story at Seneca High School is rooted in relationships, memories and personal growth.
